Savta’s Feta and Tomato Party Stealer

Savta’s Feta and Tomato Party Stealer

This dish was inspired by the way Savta always started gatherings - with something warm, simple, and full of flavor. The sweetness of the roasted tomatoes, the saltiness of the feta, and the hint of za’atar bring everyone to the table before the meal even begins. It’s easy, comforting, and always disappears first.

Prep time: 5 minutes

Total time: 35 minutes

Difficulty: Easy

Kosher: Dairy

Ingredients (serves 4–6):

  • 200 g feta cheese
  • 450 g cherry tomatoes
  • 4–6 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons hot honey, plus more for serving
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (EVOO)
  • 1 tablespoon Savta’s Za’atar, plus more for serving
  • A pinch of salt flakes

Preparation Steps:

  1. Preheat the oven to 420°F (215°C).
  2. Place the feta in the center of a small baking dish. Scatter the cherry tomatoes and garlic cloves around it.
  3. Drizzle with hot honey and olive oil, then sprinkle with salt flakes and Savta’s Za’atar.
  4. Bake for about 30 minutes, until the feta is soft and golden on top and the tomatoes are blistered and juicy.
  5. Serve hot, drizzled with a bit more honey and a sprinkle of Za’atar.
  6. Enjoy with crackers, pita chips, or fresh bread — it’s always the first dish to disappear.
